All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZ$) and include Goods & Service Tax (GST).

Once issued, the Scenic Rail Pass is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another person or start date.

A Scenic Rail Pass is can be used of unlimited travel on The Auckland to Wellington train, the Christchurch to Picton train and the Christchurch to Greymouth train plus one Cook Strait ferry crossing between the North and South Islands or South and North Islands over 7 or 14 consecutive days from the Scenic Rail Pass start date.

When travelling on the Scenic Rail Pass, photographic identification MUST be produced for both train and ferry travel.

Scenic Rail Pass is valid for travel during the dates it is issued for. Scenic Rail Pass prices are valid until 30 September 2011 or 30 September 2010 if Pass was purchased after 01 October 2009.

All travel on a Scenic Rail Pass is subject to the Conditions of Carriage of the operators used.

Excludes travel on The Capital Connection, Wairarapa Connection, Auckland and Wellington suburban train services.

A Scenic Rail Pass does NOT guarantee a seat on The Auckland to Wellington train, the Christchurch to Picton train and the Christchurch to Greymouth train services or a space on an Cook Strait ferry service unless a reservation has been made.

Groups and families can be booked on one pass but must always travel together.

The Auckland to Wellington train operates Daily - 25 Sep 09 to 02 May 10 & 24 Sep 10 to 01 May 11 and Friday, Saturday and Sunday - 03 May 10 to 19 Sep 10 & 6 May 11 to 25 Sep 11.

The Auckland to Wellington train, the Christchurch to Picton train and the Christchurch to Greymouth train do not operate on Christmas Day - 25 December.

Reservations can be made up to 30 September 2011

Bookings for a Cook Strait ferry sailing must be made 24 hours prior to scheduled departure time. You will be given an ferry reference number which you must produce at the terminal on the day of travel.

Whilist you can turn up on the day of travel, it is recommend to make a long distance passenger train reservation at least 24 hours in advance, so not to be disappointed, especially during the summer period (Nov-Apr), public and school holidays.
